Found some old photos from my old phone.
Wow, very cool to find some old photos. Recently my Apple hard drive crashed and I lost all my photos that were not backed up. Which means most of my photos because I only backed up some work stuff. Uggg. I depended on that thing never crashing. I will try to recover some of it but right now I am looking through some photos taken on my old phone and just having a blast.
This is done in pen & ink and tinted varnish on an oar I found in my dad’s back yard. Varnish I found in the cabinet. He keeps all kinds of good stuff. haha. Not like hoarder style but you know good stuff for creating!
Spiral
I love this spiral stair case I came across. The fact that it is sea foam green makes it even more interesting. Like a sea shell.

I will hopefully be free of this thing March 5th! Yea. . .But let me tell you airport security with a cast on is no joke. Reminded me of the Russian Comedy where the guy was smuggling diamonds in his cast. Of course the airport security does not get jokes. They should have a better “bed-side” manner when they are rubbing you up from head to toe.

Isn’t this cute, a real home-made Valentines Day Card. Yesterday while Kristie and I were shopping we ventured into Free People. While I am trying on clothes Kristie is making new friends at the craft table. She makes new friends every place I take her so I was not surprised to see her right at home with the other girls. See, the creativity is SO in the family! Tomorrow when this stinky cast comes off my arm I am inspired to hit the art store for pretty paper and make some of my own home-made cards this year!!!! Remember making them as a child with the doily paper? Awe, good times!
Nicholas K spring 2012 is so inspiring!
My favorite Runway show this Spring was the Nicholas K collection. Nicholas K is a privately held men’s and women’s clothing line based in the fashion district of New York. The company has been designing and manufacturing it’s own clothing for about 8 years. They are known for their Urban – Boho look incorporating layers of sheer flowing fabric . The Spring 2012 color pallet embraces the elements by using ocean blues, sandy taupe’s, red clays, white-whites, stone gray’s and earthy greens.
It is not easy to locate this clothing, unfortunately. The web site offers a limited selection but they do provide a list of retailers in your area. YEA Free People for carrying a few of his pieces! I am hoping in the future that this line will be more attainable because this designer has such an essence and style. Kudos to you Nicholas K, your style is effortless and chic! You are on my list of inspiring artists!
Awakening (Happy 2012)
There are many moments in life that you stop and think, hum, Right On! That is why or how this works. This is why I am feeling like this or what I really need to do. For some people these moments are rare and few yet some are more aware on a daily basis. I am always trying to be aware but not every moment in life requires being so aware. One of my favorite songs is “Drive” by Incubus, even though the radio exposure killed the song commercially I respect it for what it is, mostly because it is about being aware and in control of your actions and thoughts.
Get off of auto drive, don’t blame others for your short comings and OWN your life. Get behind the wheel and drive. . .don’t just dodge what comes at you. Turn off the cruise control and drive. It is your life and the world is in you. You are not in the world. Be Aware Everyday. You will be amazed at what the world is trying to tell you. (and maybe being locked out twice in three days is sending me a message)

French-Canadian Sign
I had to stop the car and get a photo of this sign. I do not speak or read French so I had to get this translated. Even after translated I was super curious at why this visual image would be used. I was in awe. . .Here in America we use the “Slow Children At Play” sign with the visual of child running. Which to me seems appropriate for the use of letting us know Children might be running across the street or playing in the area. This is just um, WOW! I would rather see the child at play before being hit by a car, not the results of it afterward. I was not upset with this image just curious at how it it got selected as a road sign.
I will not even tell you what I thought this sign was about before I got a translation. . .Gestalt theory was not even working in my favor!!! I have lots of ideas involving red spray paint and this sign plus TONS of jokes. . .I am going to stop right here!
